Honduras Las Cabañas
This coffee comes from the province of Caranavi, the coffee capital of the whole of Bolivia, in the east, at the point where the Andes turn into the eastern forests. It is produced by Finca Las Cabanas, from which it takes its name, in the area of Capucas, in Santa Rosa de Copan. It is managed by Omar Rodrìguez, who started from his father's small farms, and with his brother in 1999 joined other farmers from the Capucas in the Cooperativa Cafetalera Capucas Limitada, COCAFCAL, with the aim of obtaining an ever higher quality coffee. He argues that "Being small producers is the guarantee of good agricultural practices and the best quality"; in fact, their mission is the production of organic and organic fertilisers. Members also enjoy many amenities and social projects and a nursery for the production of plants of as many as 11 varieties of Arabica. The fruits of this philosophy are felt: washed and dried on raised beds, it offers a very aromatic cup and a rich and buttery body.
